MOVAEL · YOUR INFORMATION, EXPLAINED
Privacy policy
Last updated: 8 September 2026
MOVAEL operates movael.shop and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. We use Shopify to power our store. This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, who receives it and the choices available to you when you browse, order or contact us.
Privacy contact: support@movael.shop. Please use “Privacy request” in your subject line. Do not send passwords, full payment card details or identity documents unless we specifically request information through an appropriate channel.
1. Information we collect
- Contact and delivery details: your name, email address, phone number, billing address and delivery address, including a gift recipient’s details when you provide them.
- Orders and payments: products ordered, payment status, transaction references, shipping and tracking details, and return or refund records. Payment information is processed through Shopify and the payment services you choose at checkout.
- Account and support information: account details and preferences, messages, reviews and information you provide when asking for help.
- Device and browsing information: IP address, browser and device identifiers, pages and products viewed, referral information, cart activity and interactions with our store and advertisements. Cookies and similar technologies may collect this information, subject to applicable consent requirements.
We receive information directly from you, automatically when you interact with our store, and from providers involved in payments, shipping, analytics, advertising and fraud prevention.
2. How and why we use information
- Process payments, fulfil orders, send tracking updates, deliver gifts and manage returns or refunds.
- Respond to questions, maintain accounts and communicate about your order.
- Keep our store secure, identify fraud and investigate payment disputes.
- Understand store performance and improve products and the shopping experience.
- Send promotional communications and measure or personalise advertising where permitted by law and your choices.
- Maintain records, meet legal obligations and establish or defend legal claims.
Where UK or European Economic Area data protection law applies, our legal basis depends on the purpose: performing our contract with you for purchases and delivery; complying with legal obligations for required records; legitimate interests for proportionate security, support and business improvement where your rights do not override those interests; and consent where required for marketing or non-essential tracking. You can withdraw consent without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.
Details needed to take payment or deliver an order are necessary to complete your purchase. If you do not provide them, we may be unable to fulfil that order.
3. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Essential technologies support functions such as checkout, cart contents and security. Analytics and advertising technologies can help measure visits, understand how customers find us and show relevant advertisements. Our advertising partners may include Meta, which operates Facebook and Instagram. Depending on the integrations in use, partners may receive browsing, device and purchase-event information.
Where offered, use the store’s cookie banner or privacy choices to accept, reject or change optional tracking preferences. You can also manage cookies through your browser; blocking essential cookies may affect checkout. Where consent is required, optional tracking should operate only after that consent. Withdrawing marketing consent does not stop essential order or service messages.
Some advertising disclosures may be considered a “sale,” “sharing” or targeted advertising under applicable US state law, even without a money payment. Where applicable, you may opt out through the store’s privacy choices or by contacting us. Applicable recognised browser opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control, must be respected where legally required.
4. Who we share information with
We disclose information to Shopify and providers that support payments, hosting, customer service, fulfilment, delivery, fraud prevention and analytics. Delivery partners receive the information needed to ship your order. If a complimentary gift ships separately, a fulfilment provider may use your delivery details for that shipment.
We may also disclose information to advertising partners subject to applicable law and your choices; when you request or authorise a disclosure; to advisers or authorities where necessary to meet legal obligations or protect rights; and as part of a business transaction such as a merger or sale, with applicable safeguards.
5. Shopify and third-party services
Shopify processes personal information to provide and improve its services. Depending on the Shopify features enabled, it may also process information from your interactions with our store, other merchants and Shopify for enhanced services. In those circumstances, Shopify is responsible for that processing and related rights requests. Read Shopify’s Consumer Privacy Policy or visit Shopify’s privacy portal.
Links to external websites and services are governed by their own privacy notices. Please review them before providing information.
6. International processing
Our service providers may process information outside your country. Where UK or EEA transfer rules apply, transfers require a recognised safeguard, such as an adequacy decision or applicable standard contractual clauses and UK equivalents. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your information.
7. Retention and security
Retention depends on the purpose: order and payment records may be needed for tax, accounting, refunds and disputes; support records for resolving enquiries; account information while the account is maintained; and marketing preferences to manage consent and unsubscribe requests. We retain information for as long as needed for those purposes or applicable legal requirements, then delete or anonymise it as appropriate.
No website, transmission method or security measure can guarantee complete protection. Please keep account credentials private and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorised account activity.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access or obtain a copy of your information; correct inaccurate information; request deletion; receive portable data; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; or opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising.
Contact support@movael.shop to make a request. Explain the right you wish to exercise and provide the email address associated with your interaction with us. We may need to verify your identity and, where permitted, an authorised agent’s authority. Rights are subject to applicable exceptions, including records we must retain. We respond within applicable legal timeframes and do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Where local law provides an appeal right, contact us to appeal a decision.
You can unsubscribe from promotional emails using their unsubscribe link. You will still receive communications necessary to manage your purchases or account.
9. Children’s information
Our services are not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable age of majority. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us to request its deletion. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information about individuals under 16.
10. Complaints and changes
Please contact us first with privacy concerns. You may also complain to your local data protection regulator, including the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or an EEA supervisory authority, where applicable.
We may revise this policy when our practices or legal obligations change. We will post the updated policy and revision date and provide additional notice where required. This policy governs personal information handling if it conflicts with another store policy.
